The Renville County Courthouse, located in Mohall, North Dakota, is a historic building with a rich history. Built from 1936 to 1937, the courthouse was designed in the Moderne style by architect E. W. Molander and was dedicated in June 1937. The construction was partially funded by the Works Progress Administration and was overseen by general contractor Iver Orheim.
The building features a unique front facade made of brick with Kettle River sandstone on the parapet, and the name "Memorial Court House" is engraved in a frieze above the entrance. This courthouse stands out among the nine county courthouses built in North Dakota during 1929-1940 as it has a Moderne style rather than the more common Art Deco style.
In recognition of its historical significance, the Renville County Courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Today, it continues to serve as a symbol of the county's rich heritage and is an important part of the community's history and culture.
